Fiber Optic Patch Cords

  • FC to ST Simplex Armoured Patch Cord OFCR Riser 3.0 mm

KEY FEATURES & CONSTRUCTION

Stainless Steel Armor Protection: Built with a protective stainless

steel tube casing to deliver high resistance against crushing, rodents,

and mechanical stress while preserving physical flexibility.

Bend Insensitive Fiber: Features G.657.A1 fiber standard, allowing tighter

cable bends with minimal signal loss, fully backward compatible with

standard G.652.D single-mode fiber systems.

High Precision Connectors: Premium FC and ST connectors with UPC

ultra-polished ceramic ferrules ensure low insertion loss (≤0.3dB) and high return loss (>50dB).

Riser Rated Outer Jacket: Flame retardant OFCR (Optical Fiber

Conductive Riser) jacket designed for safe installation in vertical shafts,

backbones, and building riser spaces.

FC/UPC to ST/UPC Simplex Armored Fiber Patch Cord

A single-fibre assembly that combines a threaded FC/UPC connector with a legacy ST/UPC bayonet connector, built on stainless-steel-armored simplex cable. The armour is the point of this cord: it protects the fibre where the route crosses factory floors, runs through cable trays with other services, or passes anywhere a rodent or a heavy foot can reach it.

Construction & Materials

A single 900 µm tight-buffered fibre sits inside a spiral stainless steel tube, which is then over-jacketed in flame-retardant LSZH or PVC to 3.0 mm. The armour gives crush and bite resistance while keeping the assembly flexible enough for a 40 mm bend radius. OS2 9/125 µm single-mode fibre is used for long-reach and telecom links, and each end is polished to UPC with an FC threaded keyed body at one end and an ST bayonet body at the other.

Key Features

  • Spiral stainless steel armour resists crush, rodent attack and abrasion
  • Single-mode OS2 fibre supports long-reach and telecom link budgets
  • Maintains roughly a 40 mm bend radius despite the armouring
  • 100% factory end-face inspection and IL/RL test report supplied with every batch
  • Custom lengths, breakout counts, jacket colour and OEM printing available

Typical Applications

  • Data centre cross-connects and top-of-rack patching
  • Telecom central office and ODF termination
  • FTTx access networks and subscriber drop panels
  • Industrial and campus backbone cabling where bend loss matters

Specifications

  • Insertion loss: ≤0.30 dB (typical), ≤0.50 dB (max) for multimode assemblies
  • Return loss: ≥50 dB (UPC), ≥60 dB (APC)
  • Operating temperature: −40 °C to +75 °C
  • Durability: ≥500 mating cycles to IEC 61300-3-2

Selection Notes

Specify armoured cord wherever the patch route leaves the cabinet. Inside a rack, standard cord is cheaper and easier to dress; the armour only earns its cost on exposed runs. Where the cord will be flexed repeatedly — a test bench or a portable kit — ask for the spiral-armour variant rather than a corrugated tube, because the spiral construction survives repeated bending far better. Confirm the jacket rating for the route: LSZH for indoor public and riser spaces, PVC where only mechanical protection is needed.

FAQ

Can you supply this assembly in custom lengths and colours? Yes. Huifiber builds patch cords to order in any length from 0.5 m to 50 m, with a choice of jacket colour, boot type and printing. Send us the connector pair, fiber type and length and we will confirm the price within 48 hours.

Do you provide test reports? Yes. Every batch ships with insertion loss and return loss test data, and we can supply an interferometric end-face report for single-mode assemblies on request.

What is the minimum order quantity? Standard configurations ship from 100 pieces. Mixed-model orders can be combined to reach the MOQ.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the FC/UPC to ST/UPC Simplex Armored Fiber Patch Cord, OS2 Single-Mode 9/125μm, 3.0mm OFCR Riser used for?

FC/UPC to ST/UPC simplex armored fiber patch cord in OS2 single-mode. Spiral stainless steel armour resists crush and rodent damage on exposed routes.

Can Huifiber customise the FC/UPC to ST/UPC Simplex Armored Fiber Patch Cord, OS2 Single-Mode 9/125μm, 3.0mm OFCR Riser?

Yes. Huifiber supplies cable under the buyer's own brand as well as under the Huifiber brand. Fibre count, jacket material, jacket print, drum marking, drum length, packaging and datasheet layout can all be produced to the customer's requirement, and the engineering team can work from a customer specification or adapt an existing construction to a new route requirement.

How is the FC/UPC to ST/UPC Simplex Armored Fiber Patch Cord, OS2 Single-Mode 9/125μm, 3.0mm OFCR Riser tested before shipment?

Every production batch is tested before it leaves the plant in Dongguan. Attenuation and geometry are measured on OTDR and optical bench equipment, and mechanical performance is verified against the datasheet for the construction. A factory test report is issued with each shipment, so an incoming inspection can be checked against the same numbers.

What should I send for a FC/UPC to ST/UPC Simplex Armored Fiber Patch Cord, OS2 Single-Mode 9/125μm, 3.0mm OFCR Riser quotation?

Send the fibre count and fibre type, the jacket material or fire rating, the route length or span and the drum length you need, the destination port or country, and any certification or test-report requirement. With those details the sales engineer can confirm the construction and return a quotation with an indicative lead time.
