  • MGTS33 Steel Wire Armoured Mining Cable for Vertical Shafts

MGTS33 Mining Optical Cable: Heavy-Duty Fiber for Underground Networks

MGTS33 is a heavy-duty, flame-retardant mining optical cable built around a central loose tube and protected by fine steel wire armoring (SWA). It is engineered for the demanding conditions of coal mines, tunnels and other underground networks where mechanical abuse, moisture and fire risk all have to be handled at once.

Construction

The cable uses a central loose tube filled with a water-blocking compound to protect the optical fibers, wrapped in corrugated steel tape armoring plus a ring of fine steel wires, and finished with a flame-retardant LSZH outer sheath. The result is a cable that resists crushing, rodent attack and vertical water penetration.

Key Features

  • Fine steel wire armoring (SWA) for crush and tensile resistance
  • Flame-retardant, low-smoke halogen-free outer sheath
  • Central loose tube with gel filling for full water blocking
  • Anti-rodent construction suited to mine galleries
  • Available from 4 to 48 cores, single-mode G.652D / G.657.A1

Typical Applications

  • Coal mine and metal mine backbone communication
  • Underground tunnel monitoring and sensor networks
  • Mine safety systems, video surveillance and dispatch links
  • Industrial plants with high EMI and mechanical stress

Selection Notes

Choose the core count against the number of monitoring nodes rather than the current requirement, because underground routes are expensive to re-cable. Where the route passes through areas with methane risk, confirm the flame-retardant and anti-static performance of the sheath with the mine safety authority before ordering. For long vertical shafts, specify the maximum tensile load and ask for a messenger-supported variant if the drop exceeds the cable's self-supporting limit.

FAQ

What does MGTS33 stand for? It is the Chinese type designation for a mining optical cable with a central loose tube (G) and fine steel wire armoring (S) in a flame-retardant sheath.

Can MGTS33 be used outdoors? Yes. The steel armoring and water-blocked loose tube make it suitable for direct burial and duct routes as well as underground galleries.

Do you support custom lengths and printing? Yes. Huifiber produces MGTS33 to order with custom drum lengths, sheath colour and OEM printing. Send us your route drawing and we will confirm the construction and lead time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MGTS33 used for?

MGTS33 heavy-duty mining optical cable with fine steel wire armouring (SWA) and flame-retardant LSZH sheath for coal mines, tunnels and vertical shafts.

Can Huifiber customise the MGTS33?

Yes. Huifiber supplies cable under the buyer's own brand as well as under the Huifiber brand. Fibre count, jacket material, jacket print, drum marking, drum length, packaging and datasheet layout can all be produced to the customer's requirement, and the engineering team can work from a customer specification or adapt an existing construction to a new route requirement.

How is the MGTS33 tested before shipment?

Every production batch is tested before it leaves the plant in Dongguan. Attenuation and geometry are measured on OTDR and optical bench equipment, and mechanical performance is verified against the datasheet for the construction. A factory test report is issued with each shipment, so an incoming inspection can be checked against the same numbers.

What should I send for a MGTS33 quotation?

Send the fibre count and fibre type, the jacket material or fire rating, the route length or span and the drum length you need, the destination port or country, and any certification or test-report requirement. With those details the sales engineer can confirm the construction and return a quotation with an indicative lead time.
